British Open Doubles

Into the Finals

Nick Wood and Steve Virgona have beaten the seeding and are now in the Finals of the British Open.  They defeated the No. 2 seed partnership of Ben Matthews and Camden Riviere.  I am not sure whether Steve and Nick have played together before but Nick is a great doubles player and his long term partner was Mike Gooding.  Steve, of course, is half of the World Doubles title holders and when younger he and Ruaraidh Gunn were a force to be reckoned with in doubles. 

In the second semi-final Fahey and Gunn were run around and they had another five setter to contend with.  The score against Sayers and Smith was 4/6 6/3 6/2 5/6 6/1.
