Pau Real Tennis Tournament

From the 30th September - 3rd October  
The project to restore the court continues and today we are announcing our latest manifestation to help raise the profile of this magnificent old building, which is set amongst the trees of the beautiful Parc Beaumont in the centre of the town.  
This event will also be our first step in realising our vision of one day organising a festival of ancient European ball games, such as Rebot (a discipline of Pelote Basque), Kaatsen, Longue Paume, Tamourin and many more besides.  Along with Real Tennis these games can trace their ancestry back many centuries and most still use our system of chases.  
The date of our Real Tennis handicapped doubles tournament will coincide with the first week of the 10 day indoor Pelote World Championships that are being hosted this year by Pay, Lescar and Oloron Ste Marie, where there will be over 500 athletes from 20 nations competing for 14 titles.  Please see about this on the link by clicking here  

We also hope to be able to arrange a demonstration of Longue Paume and/or Tambourin during the weekend so there will be much to see and do in addition to the many varied and beguiling attractions of this charming town set at the foot of the Pyrenees.
