Real Tennis World Record
Will Stephens is going for it!
Rising to the Challenge ... For Sport Relief
Real Tennis, the mother of lawn tennis and the favoured sport of King Henry XIII will make an impact on Sport Relief this year. Will Stephens, regular dad and real tennis enthusiast will face a raft of opponents in an attempt to raise at least £2,000 for Sport Relief and, at the same time, create a new World Record.
From 10am on Saturday 20th March, he aims to play as many single opponents as he can manage for a straight 24 hours and, in so doing, hopes to create a new Guinness World Record: Real Tennis, Singles, Most Consecutive Opponents
The event will be taking place at Prested Hall in Ferring, Colchester, Essex
By getting involved in the Sport Relief Weekend Will is helping to change the world. All the cash raised will help to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries.
Will, the CFO of Screenocean Ltd says, “I have been playing Real Tennis for over ten years and I’m so pleased to be able to use something I love to create good for other people. I’ve been undertaking intense training in the 6 short weeks since deciding to do this - sometimes playing for a solid 8 hours to prepare me for the marathon that faces me. Playing with heavy wooden rackets, I have no doubt, will give me an arm to match Rafael Nadal’s by the end of the epic 24 hours!”
