Unsure of how to get to Prested?  It is easy!
By Car:
Take the M25 Eastbound.
At Junction 28, take the A12 exit signposted Chelmsford/Brentwood
At Junction 23, take the B1024 exit, signposted Kelvedon/Tiptree
Follow the road all the way through Kelvedon, over a humpbacked bridge, entering Feering. Climb all the way to the top of the hill and leave the village where the road forks. Take the right fork, signposted Prested Hall and follow the round round and over the A12. There is only one turning on that road so you can’t get it wrong. Drive all the way down the main drive until you reach the hotel, keep left and follow the road up to “The Club”. You are now in the car park.
By Train:
London Liverpool Street Station.
You will need to be on a train that stops at Kelvedon. This should take 50 minutes. If there is a long wait for this train, you can get a train to Witham and get a taxi from Witham station for about £10
Once at Kelvedon station, there is a taxi rank, although it may not be well manned. If this is the case, there are a few local taxi firms. It may be worth calling before leaving to be safe.
Wanna Cabs 01376 572727
Coggeshall Cars 01376 562047
Coggeshall Private Hire 01376 562233
Alternatively, it is a 30 minute walk from the station. Turn right and walk along the road until you reach a T-Junction where there will be The Railway Tavern Pub. Turn left and climb all the way to the top of the hill and leave the village where the road forks. Take the right fork, signposted Prested Hall and follow the round round and over the A12. There is only one turning on that road so you can’t get it wrong. Walk all the way down the main drive until you reach the hotel, keep left and follow the road up to “The Club”. You are now in the car park.
