Alan was introduced to real tennis through his lawn tennis buddies, Chris Ronaldson and Mick Dean.
In 1982 he was looking for a job in Oxford and saw an advertisement for the position of Real Tennis Professional at the University Tennis Club. Alan has been there ever since!
Now a film star having appeared in ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel!
Alan is waiting for Howard Angus to retire before I can claim to be the oldest working pro in the UK...and since I have suffered a very long string of 1st round defeats in national tournaments, at least this will be something for me to 'anticipate'!
