Camden was born in Charleston, South Carolina in May 1987 but was raised in nearby Aiken, South Carolina. He started playing real tennis at age 5 with his father and played his first tournament at age 7. Camden's first coach was the Aiken Professional at the time, Mark Devine. As a junior Camden competed on the American Junior Squads including the Clothier Cup team and the Van Allen team. During his early teens Camden competed as a top level amateur winning such tournaments as the US Amateur and the Tuxedo Gold Racquet. Camden also played for the United States on the Bathurst Cup Team. In May 2005, at age 17, Camden moved to the UK and turned Professional, working at Hampton Court Palace under Chris Ronaldson. After a year in the UK Camden returned to the US due to some personal family issues and became a Touring Professional. The last few years have been a constant progression for Camden winning many tournaments and even challenging for the 2008 World Championship where he was narrowly defeated by Rob Fahey 7 sets to 5. In September 2008 Camden joined the team at the Boston Tennis & Racquet Club as a Real Tennis, Racquets, and Squash Professional. All of this work has paid off now as Camden has become the number 2 player in the world and is hopeful to challenge yet again for the World Championship in 2010.
In September 2005 he won his first professional tournament in Britain, The Taylor Cup. In 2007 he won the Open Under 21 and Under 24 singles. Due to the Final Eliminator he was unable in 2008 to defend his titles.
In the Premier Division of the Singer & Friedlander and Maurice Lacroix IRTPA National League 2006 Camden played for RTC along with Ben Ronaldson and Spike Willcocks. The RTC team were the overall winners defeating Cambridge 1 team of Rob Fahey and Neil Roxburgh.
