Profile

Jon Dawes grew up on Hayling Island, where his father was Head Professional at the Seacourt Club for 30 years. Jon turned Professional at the age of 19 in 1995 and joined the re-opened Newmarket court as Assistant Professional. In 1996 having become the first person to successfully achieve the Basic Certificate Qualification, Jon moved to Hatfield as Assistant to Adam Phillips where they worked together until January 2003 when Adam moved on to Lords. Jon then took over as Head Professional at Hatfield and was joined at the Club by Andrew Fowler As a player Jon has won the Under 18 British Open and has been a finalist in both the Under 21 Singles and Under 24 Doubles. More recently Jon added the Taylor Cup and Cat A tournaments to his list. He has also forged a successful doubles partnership with Adam Phillips reaching the semi-finals of both the Pro Doubles and British Open Doubles and has also reached the semi-final of the Pro Doubles with Andrew Fowler.
