Profile

Matty started the game at the tender age of 8 and only just over 4 feet tall at Canford real tennis club under the watchful eye of his father, Steve.

As a youngster he won 6 junior titles at the British Open Juniors between 1992-97. He then won two U19 doubles titles before finishing school and preparing for university.

Matty attempts to excel at everything he does, and while at university, he excelled at putting on weight during far too many nights out at Loughborough University, where he studied Sports Science with Physics for three years.

In 2003 Matty joined the professionals at The Royal Tennis Court.

In 2005 he moved to Prested Hall Real Tennis Club as their new Head Professional

In 2007 Matty moved to Paris as the new Head Professional

Currently Matty is unable to play tennis following a back opertation. All is going well and he hopes to be back playing again in May 2006 and back 'on the circuit for the season 2006/2007
