After leaving school in 1983, Steve went to work for Frank Willis at a Squash Club in Rochdale.
In 1985 he followed Frank to the Manchester Tennis and Racquet Club.
He worked for 5 years as Frank’s assistant and in 1990 moved to Moreton Morrell as the Head Professional. During his stay there he won 2 Morris & Verdin singles tournaments.
In 1999 he moved back to Manchester upon Frank’s retirement and took over there as the head professional.
Steve is one of the head professionals that all those aspiring to be a professional should work with. In recent year’s he taught Rod McNaughtan and has the talented Craig Greenhalgh working with him now.
Steve has also won the Division 2 National League playing for Oxford in the season 1998/99 and was runner up with Moreton Morrell in 1999/2000.
A family man, he and his wife, Niamh have two children Harvey and Lauren
