Tim was a former lawn tennis ace. From the lawn tennis court he has brought his volleying skills to the game of real tennis.
2001-2003 World Doubles Champion partnered by Julian Snow in 2001
In December 2002, Tim challenged Rob Fahey for the World Championship. It was the closest challenge in many challenges. Going to the full 13 sets.
In May 2004, Tim again challenged Rob Fahey for the World Championship title. Tim's challenge was not as close as in 2002, although he was playing breath taking tennis it was to no avail and he was defeated 7 sets to 1.
Following the 2004 challenge Tim left working within tennis and moved to Boston and took up a desk job. He only played tennis within the US and was sorely missed by the rest of the world. In January 2006 he decided that he would enter the eliminator process and have another shot at challenging for the world title. His fellow competitors were unsure how he would play having been out of competitive tennis. His results within the US had been very mixed. He asked Josh Bainton to help him train and get fit again and into the right mind set for competitive tennis. Tim has been in devasting form. He defeated Ruaraidh Gunn in Boston and Melbourne to win the first eliminator and crushed Steve Virgona in the Final Eliminator.
The Challenge itself brought of course Tim's nemesis in the form of Rob Fahey. What ever Tim did, Rob countered and raised the level of game. Tim was unable to counter this and lost 7/0. It may well be the last time that we will see Tim play out of America. Only time will tell.
