Riviere v Gunn Match Coverage

Ricardo Smith reporting

Match starts at 18:30 EST Friday 19th February
I will be taking questions from when the coverage starts at 18:00 EST.  Please email by clicking here
17:55
- Coverage has started, Camden is finishing off his warm up with Jimmy Burke and then we will have a short pre-match announcement before play begins. If anyone has any questions, comments or even predictions please fire away!!! Email address is just above grin
18:07
- Its pretty close to a sell out here, we have 100 people here now and potentially more on the way!!
Lewis Williams from Prested Hall (great club) thinks 6/2 6/4 3/6 6/1 to Riviere, he also adds CMON CAM!!

Thats not a spelling error on my part that is essex for ‘come on’
Joanna Peters from London says ’ Come on Rozza, you can do it! You have nothing to lose…...... Well apart from the match
18:22 Just over 6mins left now. . . . excited?? I am!!
Mr David Woodman showing concern for his fellow pro… He says ‘I hope you have plenty of cakes with you for this reporting’ in answer to that - i have 2 coca cola’s and a bag of mnm’s so i should be fine!
18:37
The so called short speech seems to last forever….. but im still here and awake so dont worry!! Play begins any moment. The legend that is Mark Devine is marking this one!
18:52- finally were under way and the first game is Cams 1-0.
19:03 - 3-0 Riviere - nothing explosive yet just errors but Riviere wont mind as he’s not making them! as i speak he wins another game 4-0. Gunn needs to get on the board here or it could be a quick night….
19:07 - Now i haven’t timed that set but its not far off 15minutes? 6/0 Riviere - slow claps from the dedans they are starting to sense a quick match… Gunn is a 2-time open winner so i expect him to mount a comeback anytime now…..
Just a quick note - the video streaming has nothing to do with me….
19:15 - 6/0 1/0 Riviere takes the first game of the second set but its a long one. Gunn needs a big push here before this match pass’s him by….
19:20 - 6/0 2/0 - So far Riviere looking tidy not doing that much with the ball because so far he hasn’t had to. Gunn looks lacking in confidence on this court at the moment and just cant get into any sort of pattern. Not many targets hit just yet but plenty of clean low winners mainly from Mr Riviere.
19:23 - 6/0 5/0 - Clinical Riviere is not letting Gunn get any sort of  foothold in this match! There is a silence around the court now as the spectators now think its over. You have to think a player of Gunn’s abillity will get his chances but so far i just cant see it happening! (despite my earlier prediction of a Gunn fightback!)
19:29 - 6/0 6/0 - Gunn dumps a ball off the back penthouse into the middle of net and thats the second set to Riviere. That last play just about sums up Gunn’s evening so far, right third set can Gunn give it a final push?
19:35 - 6/0 6/0 2/0 error count for Gunn is high and this one is as good as over folks, the clapping has all but stopped now as this match grinds to a halt. I don’t know which has lasted longer so far the speech’s or the match…???
19:44 6/0 6/0 4/0 - This reminds me of Colchester Uniteds 7-1 thrashing of Norwich City earlier this season! not relevant??? I’m running out of ideas…..!! Back to the match - Gunn has a game point (maybe his first one) but can’t convert and Riviere takes the game. The end is near…..
19:50 6/0 6/0 6/0 MATCH TO RIVIERE AND HE GOES ON TO TUXEDO PARK!!!!!!!!!!
How to sum that up then….. Riviere was very good he made very few errors and hit a lot of targets(35 someone told me), he strolls into the final eliminator match. Gunn will be devastated he looked so good in Melbourne and in truth on another day he could of won that match but tonight he was completely outplayed. Now it must be said Gunn was carrying a foot injury which he picked up during a training session earlier this week. So Riviere goes on to Play Steve Virgona and make no mistake about it that will be a different match all together. We all wait in anticipation for that one!!
Well i hoped you enjoyed this all to brief commentary! We now move on to the US open in New York…. So from me Ricardo Smith and the IRTPA i wish you a good night from Aiken South Carolina.
