Head Professional, Hobart Real Tennis Club

The Hobart Real Tennis Club is seeking expressions of interest in appointment to the position of full time Head Professional.

The position is available from 4 July 2016, following the retirement of the current Head Professional Barry Toates.

The Hobart Club is Australia’s oldest real tennis club, being founded in 1875.

The Club buildings are in the Hobart CBD, are heritage listed and include excellent facilities for the members and the Professional. The court playing area was renovated and new lights were installed last year in advance of the holding of the 2015 Bathurst Cup.

The Club maintains a membership level which enables it to be profitable, and there is a dedicated group of members who contribute to the running of the Club activities, on the court, maintaining the Club and in the organisation of social activities.

While oversight of the management of the affairs of the Club is through the Club Committee, the Head Professional has responsibility and considerable autonomy for the effective running of the day to day activities of the Club, both on and off the court.

Hobart is a liveable and affordable city for singles, couples and families. And while the Hobart Club might be the southernmost club in the world, it maintains an active interest in hosting national and international tennis events, and has done so over the past 40 years.

Interested applicants can contact John Ramsay via email to john.ramsay@jrassociates.com.au for further details in relation to the position and the requirements for lodging a formal Expression of Interest.

Formal Expressions of Interest must be received by 22 February 2016.
