Head Professional, Wellington Real Tennis Club

Wellington College offers a unique opportunity for a Real Tennis Professional to lead the establishment of a brand new Real Tennis Club on its campus in Berkshire.

With the generous support of donors, the College is building a new facility to deliver a world class player experience. The court is being designed to meticulously high standards using the latest technology to deliver a playing surface that is second to none.

Building has commenced, with completion expected in the Spring of 2016 and so we now wish to appoint a Head Professional to lead the development of Real Tennis within the College. Wellington College is one of the UK’s leading co-educational day and boarding schools and has a track record in producing Real Tennis players of national and international repute. We have a Sports Department which is currently working with 100 pupils, in 22 different sports, performing at national and international level and we hope Real Tennis will increase those numbers, as well as establish a strong participatory ethos among pupils.

The Head Professional will also lead on the establishment of a thriving Real Tennis Club for private members, which sits within the flourishing Wellington Health and Fitness Club. Again, our ambitions are to have a strong participatory club, with the breadth and depth to develop and produce champions at all stages and ages.

The Head Professional will take ownership of the Business Plan and will have considerable autonomy to develop the Club and College sports offering, but is also supported by a strong College team and a dedicated panel of Real Tennis players.
