Final Eliminator Contenders

Published on: Feb 11, 2018

FAHEY -V- VIRGONA

It was an enthralling and exciting second day of play between Fahey and Sayers, with Fahey requiring 2 additional sets and Sayers requiring 4 additional sets.  Sayers won the first set 6/4, the second set went to Fahey 6/4 and as for the third set, like the fourth set on day 1 it went to 6/5.  The intensity was palpable and if there was anyone thinking Fahey would not have the desire or intensity to slog it out, how wrong they were.

The final score line was 4/6, 6/3, 6/1, 6/5, 4/6, 6/4, 6/5

The final eliminator is on a home and away basis played over the best of three five set matches.  Fahey is the higher ranked player and will probably decide to play the first leg in Chicago and then the remaining 2 matches at Prested.  All this has to be confirmed by the players.  Once the home venues have been confirmed the dates will be finalised and published here.
