Job Title: Racquets Professional (Salaried)

Reports To: Director of Racquet Sports

Effective Date: September 2025

Job Summary

The Tuxedo Club Racquets program is among the most comprehensive in the country, featuring Court Tennis, Padel, Har-Tru tennis courts, Squash, Rackets court, Platform Tennis courts and Pickleball. The Racquets Professional is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual that has exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. The Racquets Professional will assist in delivering a world-class racquets program for players of all ages and skill levels year-round by providing on-court instruction with program development, member engagement, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

Member Service & Administration

  • Deliver first-class service to members and guests in all interactions
  • Handle phone inquiries, lesson and court bookings, and event information requests
  • Assist with event promotion, registration, and execution.
  • Maintain professional appearance in line with Club standards.
  • Use computer systems effectively for scheduling and communication.

Instruction & Program Delivery

  • Provide private and group lessons for all ages and abilities
  • Lead clinics, academies, and camps across multiple racquet sports.
  • Support the Racquets Director in designing and running programs and events

Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform racquet maintenance including restringing and grip replacement
  • Assist with ball making for Court Tennis as required.
  • Support court setup and maintenance when needed

All Racquet Sports

  • Maintain a competitive playing standard as determined by the Racquets Director
  • ➢ Represent The Tuxedo Club in leagues, tournaments, and exhibitions

Qualifications

  •  Strong playing and teaching ability in at least 3 racquet sports offered at the Club required
  • Commitment to developing skills across additional racquet sports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor and member-service mindset
  • Proficient computer and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work varied shifts which include weekdays, evenings, weekends & holidays

Updated September 2025Compensation & Benefits

  • Base weekly salary range $1,161 – $1,199 (based on experience)
  • Eligible for Employee Holiday Bonus
  • Lesson and clinic income
  • Racquet stringing and ball-making income potential
  • Eligible for all benefits as outlined by classification in the Employee Handbook
  • 401k with company match once eligible

Working Conditions

As a Racquets Professional, it is expected that, at times, you may have to work in the evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee isregularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed tomoving mechanical parts & toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the environment ismoderate.

  • May need to work in wet or humid conditions, near moving parts, near fumes or airborne particles, in extreme non-weather heat, & in extreme non-weather cold
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands & fingers, reach with hands & arms, talk and/or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Employees must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs multiple times per day
  • Expect to be on their feet for up to 6 hours at a time
  • Must practice proper body mechanics & use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury
