Who Will Challenge The World Champion?

The dates are all set, the pressure is on for those playing in the eliminators and the world champion, Robert Fahey, defending his title for the twelfth time, waits in the challenge round to take on, as yet, an unknown opponent.

The First Eliminator is between Steve Virgona and Tim Chisholm.

This eliminator is played on the best of 3 five set matches.  The first victory has gone to Steve Virgona, won in a sensational 5 set battle, lasting just over 3.5hours in Tuxedo.  If you missed the action, click here to catch up on the match.

Day 1 (TUX) Steve Virgona bt Tim Chisholm 6-4, 6-2, 0-6, 5-6, 6-4

The players will now go to Chicago to play the second match on Thursday March 17th and if required the final match will be played on Saturday March 19th.  Live streaming of this match is available here.

The Final Eliminator has Camden Riviere, the world’s number one player waiting for the winner of the first eliminator.  This eliminator is being played on the challenge format of the best of 13 sets.  Four sets will be played on Wednesday 6th April, a further four sets on Friday 8th April and the remaining 5 sets on Sunday 10th April, or until one of the players has a total of 7 sets.

The challenge itself is being played at the National Tennis Club on the 17th, 19th and 21st May.
